Thanks much for the shout-out, Richard. Gwen’s post is great too.
Writers and readers alike are at the mercy of Amazon algorithms these days, and those are constantly changing and always mysterious. But the one thing that seems to be constant is they don’t like the three star review.

Unfortunately, some authors to “game” the algos–and trolls do too, using them to wield disruptive power.

The best way to fight back is to write real, honest reader reviews. Especially if you like a book. It’s natural for people to want to complain if something disappoints, but we all forget to praise the things we do like. The post was meant to remind us that a little praise in the right place can be very, very powerful.
